Three Trends of Funeral Industry In 2021
A funeral is not just a
final farewell to your loved one; increasingly, a funeral has become a
reflection of the unique life led by the deceased person. Hence, traditional
funeral services are being replaced by new innovative ideas that make a funeral
a relaxed, celebration of life event. That is why most of the funeral homes in Miami
are increasingly adopting these new ideas and offering them to their
prospective clients. If you are managing one, it is high time you know what the
three funeral trends of 2021 are.
Cremation
jewelry
Topping the list is
cremation jewelry. In recent years, cremation has become the choice of a
funeral for many people. The ashes of the loved person are sometimes kept to
help remember the person more. But increasingly people are turning them into
jewelry so that they can feel more connected to their most missed person.
People are putting a bit of the ash in sterling silver pendants, charm
bracelets, or even rings. Some people are not keen on that but are turning the
final thumbprint of the deceased person into thumbprint necklaces. Another way
people are remembering their loved ones is by turning the ashes of the loved
one into memorial diamonds. Now, of course, a funeral home cannot offer that
service because it has to be done in a lab; but they are partnering with such
facilities to offer such services to their clients.
Eco-friendly
burials
Being green and eco-friendly
is the need of the hour, and there are many funeral homes across the country
that are specializing in offering eco-friendly burials. Green burials include
burying the body in a biodegradable casket and forgoing embalming which hampers
the natural decaying of a body. Such bodies are buried in a green burial ground
where you can also bury urns or scatter the ashes if the clients opt for
cremation. There are other unique burial options available now including the
Neptune Memorial Reef located on the coast of Key Biscayne, and not very far
from Miami. Here loved ones can create a final underwater resting place for
their loved ones, which can also include their four-legged family members. The
site is designed by a marine biologist who hopes to create an artificial reef
and attract marine life to populate it. It is certified by environmental
agencies as well as wildlife agencies and the best part is, buying a plot here
is even less than a burial plot in the increasingly costly burial grounds.
Celebration of
Remembrance
The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic
has bought many changes to the funeral industry and one of them is that
families could not hold a proper funeral gathering for the loved one. This is
why funeral homes are offering Celebration of Remembrance services which
are like memorial services but held much after the person’s actual funeral was
held. The families get more time to arrange such a memorial and it is more
personalized and intimate.
These are three of the many
trends in the funeral industry that you need to look out for if you are in this
industry.
